10 Ideas to Give Away a Stag

Here are 10 ideas for a great Stag Do. Pick your favourites and pass them on to your best man...hopefully he listens!

I don't think we really need to give you guys too much guidance when it comes to the Stag Do...your groomsmen probably have it all planned out (deviously so). However, if you've just started thinking about what you want to do, here are some ideas you can give your best man and/or friends, so they know what it is you have in mind. They range from simple and affordable to crazy and expensive...

However, remember that at the end of the day, it's out of your hands...all you can do is try to steer the boys in the right direction!

1. BACKYARD CRICKET - Split the boys into two teams and play a good ol' fashioned game of backyard cricket, accompanied by a few beers in the sun.
2. PAINTBALL - Put the groom in a white jumpsuit and go to town...although make sure it's not too close to the wedding day, as perfectly round bruises all over his body aren't the best accessories to a crisp wedding suit.
3. 18 HOLES - Break up into groups and give the golf course a run for its money. Maybe put up a bit of money or a terrible task (i.e. the losing team has to wear tutus to town later in the evening) to add to the excitement...and of course finish off the afternoon at the 19th hole.
4. ADVENTURE SPORTS (Quad Biking, Rafting, Mountain Biking etc) - Outdoor adventure activities, when combined into a "Boy's Weekend", are becoming more and more popular. They make for a memorable trip with a few bruises to show at the end of it.
5. TRAMPING - A tramping trip, such as a hike of the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, is a great weekend away as well.
6. FISHING OR HUNTING TRIP - Book a charter and spend the day with a beer in one hand and a rod in the other. If you opt for the hunting trip, wait for the beer until guns have been unloaded and safely locked away.
7. THE SEVENS OR OTHER SPORTING EVENT - This is one of those options where you can legitimately make the groom look like a true idiot...dress him up and parade him around...while still managing to enjoy an afternoon of sport.
8. POKER NIGHT - Get the boys together and have a night of cigars, pizza, drinks and cards. Organise green plastic visors to make it TRULY authentic.
9. GO KARTING - Like the hunting trip, probably best to wait until you're off the track before you crack a beer.
10. DAY AT THE RACES - This could be a day watching the dogs or horses. Either or, you're bound to enjoy a few drinks and the excitement of a bet or two.

...of course a scantily-clad, okay naked, woman will factor into the event at some point, but I didn't think it even needed to be listed.
