The big night before your big day is a bride-to-be institution. And while some of us cringe at the idea of an impending Hen's Night, others of us throw ourselves (novelty-veil-first) into our last night of freedom with a vengeance. Regardless of which group you fall into, your last night as a 'single girl' should be one to remember.  So make sure you print out these tips from Hen's Night Experts Sexgear.co.nz and leave them where your chief bridesmaid can see them.

Ingredient One - Fine Food
Usually, a Kiwi Hen's Night involves some indulgent drinking, so what better way to counter the effects of the champagne than by filling up on great food? This could be a BYO feast at the bride's favourite restaurant or a luxury degustation dinner at your city's finest establishment - budget-dependent of course. If you want a really creative idea for dinner, you and the troupe could cook it yourselves at a local cooking school. These schools cater for large groups, usually permit you and your guests to bring wine with you and are often run by enthusiastic and entertaining head chefs. Plus, you get to learn to cook something new - with Asian and Italian being the most common fare. Use the Yellow pages to find one in your area.

Ingredient Two - Delicious Drinks
Your typical Kiwi Hen's Night usually starts... and ends... with a cocktail. This is one of the most fun parts of a Hen's Night to prepare - because it involves lots of taste testing! But while a little Cosmopolitan-induced giggly frivolity is to be expected, as MC for the evening, we recommend you and the other bridesmaids try to keep a straight head. Check out our hens night section to find lots of yummy alcoholic beverages.  Here's a virgin daiquiri recipe to keep the non-drinkers happy:
1.    To a blender, add 1 frozen mango
2.   Then 2 cups canned peaches
3.  And 1/4 cup brown sugar
4.  Season with fresh nutmeg and vanilla to taste
5.  And finally, add 1 tsp. fresh lime juice
6.    Blend until smooth

Ingredient Three - Awesome Activities
Having a fun activity planned is crucial and usually the part of the hen's night most people talk about once the evening is over. However, the type of event you organise is very much reliant on the tastes of your bride. If she's adventurous by nature, then you'll probably get away with organising a bike trek through the vineyards. But if she's more low-key in her leisure activities, a day at the spa is relaxing, easy-to-organise and is fast becoming one of the most popular ways for brides to see out their last 'single' day. Although don't forget that a great Hen's Night can still happen at home! For a cosier activity - rent DVDs, order in and have a great hen's night at home. Ingredient Four - Something Silly
It's not really a hen's night if you haven't got at least one novelty adult item - and that's where we come in! Check out Sexgear.co.nz for the latest in Hen's night accessories and ideas.
