Do we book transport for our guests?
I was just wondering - we have about 100 guests coming to our wedding and about 80 or so will need transportation home. We were thinking about hiring a couple of buses. Could you recommend any other way and is this normal to organise transport for guests?

These days, it is very common for the wedding couple to organise transportation for their guests. It makes it easier on them, as they will not have to worry about drawing straws for a designated driver, and it makes it easier on you, as you won't feel the need to police everyone's alcohol consumption. Your venue will also benefit from knowing that everyone will be leaving at a set time - around which they can schedule the evening's clean up/pack up.

If you are wary that some people may want to leave a bit earlier than others, like Grandma and Grandpa, you can arrange for two departure times to accommodate these guests.
Finally, if your budget is tight, contact a local cab company and request that a certain number of cabs arrive at your venue at a designated time. This way you arrange the vehicle, but your guests arrange the payment.
