To be honest, it completely depends on your skin type and whether or not you have any skin issues. Our Checklist details when you should be scheduling treatments depending on your skin's health.

At a glance, Our Checklist recommends:

6-8 Months Before the Day:

Find a Skin Specialist: If you battle with skin issues, now is the time to meet with a dermatologist or other skin specialist to work out a treatment schedule

Start Waxing: Start waxing more often, as repeated waxing thins out hair. As a result, you'll have fewer hairs to deal with and a silkier result

3-5 Months Before the Day:

Book Makeup: Book your makeup artist - again, make sure you factor in bridesmaids and timings if you are scheduling on their behalf

Think about Beauty Treatments: Try out different beauty treatments to see what will best make your skin radiate on your wedding day

1 Month Before the Day:

Practice Self Tan/Spray Tan: If you're planning on using self tanner or going for spray tans, do a few practice courses to see how they take to your skin. Hint: Don't sunbathe in anything that will give you ugly tan lines.

3-4 Weeks Before the Day:

Organise Trial Makeup Session: Have a trial makeup session so you know you'll look how you want to on the day.

1 Week Before the Day:

Pre-emptive Waxing: If you are getting any waxing done, make sure you do it at least 4-5 days before the wedding...just in case you react in a way that may not be normal!

Day Before the Day:

Manicure and Pedicure: Get a manicure and pedicure. Remember to buy a bottle of the nail colour you're wearing so you can fix any chips or smudges on the day. Wear open toe sandals to your appointment and allow an hour or two of doing nothing to allow your nails to dry.

Wedding Day:

Shave and shower!

There are a few key tips to taking care of your complexion throughout this process, which you should really try to build into your routine 6 months out from the wedding day. They include:

  • Hydration - ensure you are drinking proper amounts of water (at least 8-10 glasses per day)
  • Balanced Diet - it's amazing how good nutrition positively affects your skin
  • Moisturiser - you'll know which skin type you are, so choose a moisturiser that suits your type and moisturise daily
  • Stress - it may sound impossible, but reducing your stress will benefit your complexion
  • Exercise & Sleep - regular exercise will keep your body energised, and at least 8 hours of sleep a night will give your body the rest it needs to stay fit and healthy
  • SKIN: If you have the time and the money, consider investing in a monthly facial and/or a skin regime from this 6-month mark. It will no doubt improve the health and appearance of your skin. Facemasks and/or facials rid your skin of toxins, so you may find that you break out slightly after the first few sessions. So...a Top Tip: DO NOT get a facial a week or two before your wedding if you have never had one. You may run the risk of breaking out or having an adverse reaction that could potentially linger up until the wedding day.

Exfoliate regularly, from the ground up (i.e. don't forget your feet!).

NAILS: If you have damaged cuticles, start applying cuticle cream on a daily basis, as attention will be paid to your hands - if not just your left hand - on your wedding day. In addition, if your nails are weak or brittle, apply nail strengthener at least once a month.
